Psychojonas
The Process of Recruiting New Members So here's the scenario - you're chilling out, casually doing some slayer/bossing/skilling/bankstanding and you end up talking to someone. That particular someone is interested in joining Spirits of Arianwyn but they don't know how to. This is where YOU, the wonderful clan member, come into play! Step 1: Tell them how to find our forums IMPORTANT: because of Jagex's rule on advertising, do not say "soa-rs.com" when trying to direct a potential new member to our off-site forums. You may get a mute. A way to work around this would be as follows: (Examples of search engines: Google, Yahoo, bing, etc) Step 2: Helping them create a Spirits of Arianwyn forum account Smooth sailing . The potential member has found the main page - tell them to click on the word "FORUMS". They will then come across this screen and they will need to click on "Sign Up". Once they click on "Sign Up" they will fill out the details page - anything with the red asterisk (*) must be filled in. Let them know that their forum name should be their Runescape name - this helps out the Resources team. For security reasons, their password should be unique - not the same as the Runescape password! At the bottom of the details page is a security question and a security check. As you can see, in this example it is a straightforward question. Their question may be different, but it should be as easy as this one. The security check is a 9 tile puzzle - they only need to put 2 tiles in the correct place to pass the check. Step 3: Their Introduction Thread So far so good! The next step in the process is for the potential member to make an introduction thread. Guide them to "Step 1: Introduction Board". Once they enter the sub-forum, they will see these 3 threads pinned at the top - they're all self-explanatory, but feel free to mention them in case the potential member does not know what to do next. Congratulations! You've recruited a new member! REMINDER: The potential member may not use English as their first language or they may not be very computer literate - patience is key! Psychojonas
Questions you may be asked Q:Do I need to make a forum account to be invited to the clan chat? A: Yes - no exceptions Q: Does my forum name have to be my Runescape name? A: Yes Q: What type of events does the clan do? A: All kinds - mid/high level PVM, skilling/challenge gems, citadel, some spontaneous versions of the types mentioned. Check out the "Event"/"Event Recap" boards for examples. Q: Is there anything compulsory in SoA? A: No, and there never will be. Q: What requirements are there to join SoA? A: There are no requirements to be added to the clan chat, however to become a full member (Myrth elf) you will need: 1300+ total level for P2P (member) 1000+ total level for F2P (non-member) or a skiller account. Q: So I've done my introduction. What happens next? A: After you've posted the introduction, join the clan chat and ask for an invite. 5 days later, on the forums, someone will post on your introduction thread, giving you some instructions. Follow the instructions and you will be able to post a Tylar (trialist) Application. After posting your application, a staff member will have a text-based interview with you in game or on Skype. A few days later you will find out if your application was successful or not - if it was successful you will commence your Tylar trial. If you pass the trial you will become a full member of SoA!Q: What happens if I go inactive?A: If you have passed your trial and are ranked as a Myrth elf, you will receive the retirement rank - at this point you will not be kicked for inactivity. If you go inactive during your trial you will be ranked as a Clan Thar - you will have 1 month to restart and pass. If you have not followed the instructions posted on your introduction thread within 1 month, you will be removed from the clan chat. Q: Can my alt accounts also be ranked in the clan chat? A: Once you are a Sadron elf (1 year loyalty) you may have an alt account ranked in the clan chat, however there are requirements for this.
