Princess Rae Posted April 9, 2011 Report Share Posted April 9, 2011 Well we did this: The Botting Awareness Movement (BAM) These Official Jagex events are for the RuneScape Community to assist Jagex in tackling bots in major problem areas - This is so you don't have to sit there on a world single-handedly reporting every bot which can take hours. It should be noted that this is just something additional that the player base can do, and is not how Jagex catch bots. Next event on: Saturday 9th of April 1pm Pac | 3pm Cen | 4pm Est | 9pm BST | 6AM AEST This event is P2P The event times will be updated daily. Try not to stand on bot respawns/teles or where bots are in their masses as you may be accidentally reported! What to Bring? (Click for GE link): Want to find out more? I think next time I may need the golden hammer too. You did look pretty scary with the meat tenderizer, Kelly. We also all do know that while Rae was holding the Runefest flagstaff for the majority of the event, she really had the wooden spoon ready so she could whack a few bots with it. Also Rae i notice that your chat box is larger? is that just for Pmods? There will be others at different times. Keep an eye on the thread. That stretched chat box is for everyone. It's not obvious, but there is a tiny little dot just above the top of the chat box and you can grab it and stretch the box upwards (or put it back down). You'll see I have it at different heights at different times. Just saves scrolling sometimes. Plus it's easy to miss it when you try and click on it, and then you run off randomly (That's in high detail) And about the flagstaff - you can sometimes place it in certain spots which mean the bots will click on the flag and get stuck. And then just a funny quote thingy... All in all, I caught one level 136, one level 138 (yes, we actually trapped him), and quite a few more 100+ bots. Pretty successful I think.
