What happens if it gets to the point where everyone else dies out? Have fun spending eternity by yourself. On the same note, say you're exploring somewhere due to sheer boredom. You slip into some 2 foot wide chasm, and you're stuck forever. Sweeeeeeeet! No, I'll take infinite riches and have an amazing ~50 years, thanks. With immortality you have endless time to create and gain wealth, and thus enjoy it how you wish (regardless of loss of loved ones)...
